For Parsun Yamaha Outboard Crankshaft
for parsun yamaha outboard crankshaft
I'm curious as to anyone's experience of these Chinese made outboards. They have been around a while-has anybody actually used one?
I have a 25hp Parsun 4 stroke, fitted to my Seapro 4m rib. Its been in use since september 2008 and has run over 450hrs, on my own boat on the sea mainly around north/mid wales coastline. I can honestly say i am very pleased with it, runs well and is very reliable. yes its chinese but thats not really the point, its just that i feel it is a good quality engine for the money and has been a great investment.
I have seen lier dealers offering Sail brand which are supposedly exact Yamaha 10/15/25/40 copies including spare parts. This is not true, each brand has it's own non compatible parts so be aware of this if being offered. Parsun engines are generally mail order with no dealer service, so they are a little hit and miss like no name petrol garden tools in longevity, but if you want something cheap for leisure use over a few years then it is probably the way to go. I would be happy to donate my long shaft to a new buyer after changing over if it helps.
