The heart of the BF115/130A is a new cylinder head designed for improved flow and better cooling.honda cylinder head 115hp 130hp bf115a bf130a The head’s multi-port Programmed Fuel Injection system delivers easy starts, smooth operation and superior fuel economy. A BLAST system improves acceleration, while a 24-valve DOHC configuration enhances high-rpm power.
Steady idling is accomplished by an electronic air control valve (EACV), which automatically regulates bypass air volume introduced to the intake manifold. This eliminates the screw-type idling adjuster found on older models and helps make the BF115/130A less noisy than its competitors.
Another unique feature is the BF115/130A’s dual exhaust system, which uses twin contra-rotating balancer shafts to cancel out secondary unbalance forces. This contributes to a more compact, quieter and more economical engine with fewer moving parts.
The BF115/130A is the first four-stroke outboard in its class to use an automotive-type electronic Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system, which monitors a number of different engine functions and automatically adjusts to environmental conditions, such as humidity, altitude, barometric pressure and fuel quality. It’s an advanced, state-of-the-art system that provides a number of significant benefits, including precise fuel metering for superior engine performance and superior throttle response.
The BF115/130A features a number of other improvements to simplify maintenance and protect the investment you’ve made in your engine. For example, the Engine Alert System warns you of critical engine functions, such as overheating, water in the fuel, low oil PSI and more. It also notifies you when it’s time to replace the spark plug, oil filter and water separator. And a repositioned anode and bolt coating add to corrosion protection.
